Description
Gold shoulder cord belonging to Major General Baade (1889-1959), commanding General, 35th Infantry Division during the Battle of Normandy and later appointed Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations , Army Service Forces under General Brehon B. Somervell. The aiguillette is mounted in a white display frame with two gold uniform buttons, a photo of General Eisenhower and a label reading 'General Eisenhower, General Baade, Colonel Butler inspecting a battalion problem near Bodmin, England. 26 May 1944.' On the reverse of the frame is written 'Gen Baade was Gen Eisenhower's aid [sic] this was [his] shoulder cord, it was made in France. He is on the left side.' 13.5 x 10.75 inches.
